MM 224 __ Myitkyina, North Burma. ___ May 18th, 1944
The 150th Chinese Regiment penetrated into this railroad yard. At dusk, in the fog and rain, one of the Regiment's battalions mistakenly engaged another of the Regiments' Battalions, leaving over 600 casualties on the ground. Taking advantage of this disaster the Japanese quickly reinforced the town and the three months siege of Myitkyina began.
